2012: The Ascension Once Promised
My Humble Understanding of Ascension and Looking at the 2012 Prophecy
The Prophecy of Ascension
It was twenty-three years ago.
I was sixteen when I first made contact with the world of spirituality. In the West, that means exposure to the non-religious holistic milieu often referred to as New Age — nomenclature the spiritual individual rarely applies to himself.
The term is often used derogatorily by those who subscribe to established traditions, deeming their practice more mature and New Age but an infantile approximation of authentic spiritual depth.
This might be true within some contexts, such as the usually unrivalled esoteric mastery of the yogi. In terms of condescension, however, this is but a spiritual hypocrisy on behalf of the traditionalist.
People believed in a global ascension that was to take place on December 21, 2012. This was an interpretive prophecy believed to be implied by the Mayan calendar that stopped counting at that very date. It was postulated the Mayan seers could not look beyond this date, because the world would ascend to a higher dimensional order and lift humanity beyond the cradle of sorrow.
Regardless of validity, what struck me was the sheer quantity of people gathered around this idea out of a genuine desire for a better world.
People wanted to be free of the wars, media corruption, the political deceit — the industrial power houses that are in truth contemporary kingdoms, that move our politicians like pawns on the gameboard called democracy. People were tired of the purposeful intoxication of our world.
Did the prophecy of ascension therefore demand adherence because it was spiritually substantiated — or was it because the sheer necessity of transcendence felt so naturally and pressingly true?
Perhaps the Promise was first and foremost a reflection of quiet collective desperation. A cosmic event would dethrone the insidious —untouchable— elite and return power to those capable of principled and “awoken” conduct. Those capable of sufficient harmony would resonate and thus merge with the shift in “dimensional frequency” — a mechanism that acts as a cosmic scale of judgement.
We are now in 2025 — thirteen years later. Some are disillusioned with the 2012 ascension myth, referring to it as “hopium.” Others believe the ascension process persists still, but is gradual. They interpret contemporary catastrophic events such as COVID-19 as catalysts to global awakening rather than as signs of a descending darkness. The elite are exposed, burked topics usually reserved for the conspiracy theory became mainstream — people are forced to find themselves.
I asked myself: How do I understand ascension?
Energy and Behaviour
I’m only a humble mystic — albeit one with a certain inborn giftedness.
The meditator may refine his self-awareness to such a degree his mind touches upon the quantum substrates of reality. His awareness begins to traverse the vast ocean of fluctuating energy fields that constitute existence. He becomes apprised of the underlying mechanisms of nature — life.
This capacity is amplified when he manages to integrate the transcendental dimension.
The transcendental realm is the universal essence of all things, and therefore connects all things, like a great cosmic internet. This assists the meditator in becoming existentially informed.
I naturally have this capacity to a certain degree, though I make no claim of an especially high level. I believe this is due to practice in former lifetimes.
This is my foremost source of understanding, and indeed facilitates my inspiration as a writer.
It is within this context that I would like to look at the ascension phenomenon.
Structural Energy

The idea of a lifeforce can be an abstract concept.
In the film The Matrix, there's an iconic moment when Neo "sees the Matrix" for what it truly is: an endless stream of interconnected green code that constitutes perceived reality.
This vision of everything as interconnected code is akin to the mystic’s insight into an energy-based reality.
Neo sees beyond surface appearances into the underlying coded structure of existence that interweaves all things. Similarly, the mystic perceives the world as fundamentally made of energy — a web of interconnected vibrations— rather than solid, distinct objects.
May I be forgiven if I accidentally misrepresent the scientific position, as I am only a layman. But I occasionally see contemporary research returning seemingly similar echoes:
At the heart of string theory is the idea that the fundamental building blocks of reality are not point-like particles, but one-dimensional vibrating strings. These strings vibrate at different frequencies, and the way they vibrate determines the particle’s properties.
Quantum field theory (QFT), the backbone of modern physics, suggests that fields, not particles, are fundamental. What we experience as particles are “excitations” in fields.
Quantum entanglement shows that particles can be instantaneously connected across vast distances. Changes to one affect the other, no matter how far apart they are. This may support the idea of a deeply interconnected reality.
Please note the leap of equating these scientific echoes with spiritual insight requires a degree of poetic license. As a spiritual author that simultaneously respects science, I merely wish to provide a suggestive and conceptual bridge without claiming fact. Know that such spiritual correlations are usually unappreciated by the academia.
Behaviour
The sine wave is one of the most universally recognisable forms of energy in motion. Its smooth, rhythmic oscillation serves as a perfect symbol for how light waves propagate, how sound travels, and how quantum fields vibrate.
According to the mystic, all of existence is woven from such energetic patterns. We may (symbolically) envision the sine wave as the thread and the fabric of reality as the weft — formed when waves interlace with countless other waves. Your body, your mind, and the world around you are nothing but interwoven energy — waves overlapping and intersecting, and so giving rise to form. This means everything, including you, consists of perpetual energetic behaviour — like a person born off the sea who contains within himself the undulating waves that birthed him.
I perceive life began in a state of quantum chaos. I see interactions between colliding quantum energies, leading to the formation of increasingly complex structures or states of matter, ultimately evolving towards highly organised states conducive to life.
We have evolved out of this chaos. We consist of these chaotic fields. It explains our restless minds. Why we are innately agitated. Why our bodies fall apart. Why creatures are violent and hungry and why the earth shakes. It was chaos approximating order that formed us.
The behaviour of fields initially determines the behaviour of beings.
The behaviour of beings in turn determine the behaviour of fields — wielding an evolutionary responsibility.
When we adapt our conduct to higher principles, such as ethical refinement, mindfulness, and nondual cognition, we modulate the behaviour of fields. We are the behaviour of these fields. So to change our behaviour is to directly change the behaviour of our comprising fields.
To alter the behaviour of fields alters their resonance — that with which they connect. Similarity seeks similarity.
Like so, we begin to shift from primal dimensions to dimensions of higher order. We begin to commune with realms of superior cosmic stability.
We should not necessarily anticipate such a shift to look like somatic teleportation. Rather, one attains a divine spectrum of feeling. The meditator often describes this as experiencing profound bliss. One may also know a great serenity. The cognition reaches refined states — knowing unusual clarity.
Incompatibility
To uphold this higher dimensional resonance we must persist in elevated and deeply transformed behaviour. This is often where this world offers a countless obstacles. Higher states of consciousness and associated conduct are not guaranteed to be compatible with the present socio-psychological standards of humanity.
Seeking stabilisation, energy often wants to anchor within us. There it fulfils a nourishing function. When we make physical contact, we exchange energy. Energy moves from one body to the other. Nature does not always want us to do so. It wants to guard the centredness and anchoring of our lifeforce.
Where the eyes move, there the energy follows. The eyes look left — the energy moves left also. This is why, when energy should remain anchored, the sight can be turned inwards.
When we smile, energy moves up and radiates outwards. When the corners of the mouth relax downwards, energy sinks and anchors deep within our core.
When we speak, energy leaves the body. Our words form the energy and give it direction.
The natural function of laughter is to release tension and negativity. But when one is serene and in harmony, laughter but scatters and depletes one’s lifeforce. There is in such a state no natural need to joke around.
To force the energy outward in inappropriate times and in unskilful ways bleeds lifeforce from our being, causing very real harm.
In China, I once met a Taoist. We lived in the same town. His hair was long and white but his skin was flawless. He was probably seventy but his face was twenty. His body youthful and erect. This alone was a sign of his deep inner transformation.
He guarded his facial expressions, his silence, and his eye movement. He guarded his body language. Every aspect and detail gives direction to energy and is both deeply meaningful and impactful. To the person profoundly self-aware, everything is yoga.
We never spoke. But standing next to each other in mutual stillness — we understood each other perfectly. We spoke on a different level. We met on the transcendental plane.
Now, you may imagine how inhospitable this world is to such states of being. These modes of conduct will appear as some type of social aberration worthy of diagnosis. Spiritual communities usually do not understand behaviours associated with higher dimensional resonance, even though they may strongly centre around the idea of New Age ascension. Notions of higher harmony take on the form of flower power conduct. One must loathe “the system”, constantly hug and touch, and be given to nearly endless speech. One must hold hands around a campfire and sing songs together. There is performative extroversion.
This must not be judged. However, the spiritual world offers higher dimensional conduct active animosity. Stillness is met with spite.
My humble message remains that if the world of spirituality wants ascension, it must learn to be socially compatible with transformed conduct. It presently is not.

Interesting about the 2012 and ascension.
I was senior in hs at the time in silicon valley.. and everybody was about death and annihilation lol
4 differnt born gifts?
1 is the map Bearer
Without that the other 3 will never know their, but the one with the map.. will never know his life isn't without the others(?)
Mediate on Many-Words interpretation.
I never even heard of it until it came to me like a ton of brick out the blue writing about an event logic couldn't explain and it said "MWi" is the most accurate explanation of reality currently available.
Been quite a different life since.
